a long breather just around the corner

That period of relaxation is just around the corner for me as I prepare to leave on holidays for China tomorrow morning.  I'm still writing this from my lunch break in between a full day of teaching today, but when I go back home and kick my shoes off, it will be the last time for this year!  I'm sad to have neglected both my blog here and on Faunfare but when I return from China and have little else to focus on except some leisurely thesis-writing, I'm planning on throwing myself head first into my business.

There is a lot of inspiration around me at the moment.  Several of my friends are crossing major life milestones, like marriage, buying their first home, and starting their own businesses.  Some tease me that I'm going through a quarter-life crisis, but I've started feeling like I'm ready to take my perfumery beyond just a hobby.  I feel like I have been selling my creations on Etsy for a while now and the curiosity and novelty factor is starting to wear off.  I don't know if I will ever find the kind of success that would allow me to run a perfumery full-time (and right now I love my day job too much to want to) but I'm not happy until I know I'm investing all of myself in whatever I have set my mind on.

Have a wonderful two weeks while I'm gone!  I'll touch base when I get back :).

Smortatious! (adj. pertaining to or suggesting smort)
So you're going for two weeks...that's wickedly insane. Or insanely wicked. Or both really, thanks to semantic changes over generations!

But what do you mean by 'when I go back home and kick my shoes off, it will be the last time for this year'?

Well see, you've already covered those major milestones - buying a house, getting married, starting a business (several in fact). I don't think it's a quarter-life crisis, because you're not regretting what you haven't done, but just impatient about what you are going to do. You're a dreamer lady. A big dreamer!

Have a wonderful time in China!

Just saw your comment in time to respond while waiting to board! I know I'm hopelessly idealistic about these things, but I guess life wouldn't be interesting without those risks you're compelled to take because you're in love with something, or someone :).

Have a good time for the rest of your term in Parkes! Hopefully we'll see each other before you leave for your epic trip!

Oh I know I wasn't very clear, I meant yesterday was the last time in the year that I have to tutor and come home after a long day at work.
